Well, instead of viewing all the people on the planet as people, let's see them as "sales potential", just like businessmen do. Every person out there is a potential sale of whatever product you have, and all you need to do is get them to make that purchase. This is the classical view, which is pa [ ... ]

Mirror's Edge - Cityscape

I've just installed the PC version of Mirror's Edge, and started playing it for a bit. Right now, I'm simply blown away by the artwork, it really is something different from most other games. The cutscenes and cinematics are really well done, the loading screens are interesting, with small fight scenes occurring, the animations are smooth and the plot seems captivating.

However, like most Unreal Engine games, it was developed for consoles and ported to the PC, and God is it noticable. How hard is it to just re-do your menu for PC's, and add in some more options (the sound options are: "Master Volume" , "Music" and "Dialogue". Kind of a pain, when what you want to turn down is environment effects. The controls don't feel clunky, though, but we've come to expect that from the Unreal Engine - it's properly done for PC.

I'm going to go back to playing now! Expect a full review soon-ish!

Comments problem - Fixed E-mail

I noticed that when guests tried to post comments, they would be unable to do so due to a problem with the "image verification" system (Captcha).

I've resolved this now, and you should be able to post comments once more, as a guest.

Speaking of Captcha -- I, for one, am sick and tired of this incredibly bad system. It used to be fantastic, until it was cracked and they decided to make it more and more complex. Yesterday, I managed to fail a particular captcha system no less than six times before passing. I asked a friend to doublecheck if I were still human, he confirmed I was, so it must have been the Captcha. Can't we come up with something better? And this is where I should finish with a grandiose and super-clever idea that would replace Captcha oh-so-easily, but I can't come up with one. Which explains why we still use Captcha for our comments system. To all of those whom fail it: Sorry.

If you do come up with something better, leave a comment. If you can pass our Captcha, of course.

Captcha is Dead
